The forum was organized in response to concerns regarding vacant storefronts in the Larchmont community. It will be led by downtown revitalization experts Andrew M. Manshel and David Milder, who both have extensive records in leading revitalization projects.
They will discuss Larchmont downtown and share ideas on how to fill vacant stores and attract interesting retailers.
The two will also discuss how local brick-and-mortar businesses can compete with Internet retailers, and share techniques that turn shopping districts into active, social and vital spaces that people want to visit repeatedly.
Manshel is the principal of Place Master Projects, and he led the effort to restore Bryant Park, where he was associate director and general counsel of the Bryant Park Restoration Corporation.
Milder has been working to improve downtowns in small and medium-sized communities across the country for decades.
