MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Care for some free coffee with your fill-up?

That's what you'll get at Soundview Servicenter in Mamaroneck which is celebrating 36 years in business this month. Chock Full O'Nuts coffee in a variety of flavors is being offered now through the end of November in celebration of this milestone.

The family-owned business, run by Ralph Jr. and Peter Parente, credits its success to being honest and compassionate. "We treat every person who comes in like family," said Peter.

The service center, with a second location in Old Greenwich, Conn. run by brother Joseph, prides itself on being a specialist in brakes and tune-ups, along with any other needs.

"Service is our middle name," said Peter. "We fill your tank, wash your windows and check your oil and tires if needed," he said. "We offer complete diagnostics and repairs for all makes and models."

They also offer pick up and delivery service, perform New York State Inspections and guarantee all work for a minimum of one year.

The gas station is a 'TechNet Shop,' which means it belongs to a network of over 15,000 independent service stations nationwide. "So, God forbid I worked on your vehicle and something went wrong and you're in Cape Cod or Texas, there is someone nearby to fix your car for free under my warranty," explained Peter.

The New Rochelle resident said he and his siblings (there are seven all together) were taught at a young age about the value of hard work. His father, Ralph Sr. opened in Mamaroneck after having another shop in Mount Vernon.

Ralph Jr. has been working at the shop since Day One while Peter joined the Marine Corps and later was in Desert Storm. He said the stations's customers were so concerned about him, he realized coming back to work there was where he belonged. When Ralph Sr. passed away in '93, the three brothers inherited the business.

Joseph, also a New Rochelle resident, runs Soundview North in Old Greenwich which is also celebrating a milestone: 15 years in business.

And there's one more Parente that's involved. Sister Theresa Trangucci, also of New Rochelle, supplies the homemade cookies, cakes and scones to Mamaroneck's new convenience store.

Soundview Servicenter is at 600 W. Boston Post Rd., Mamaroneck, (914) 698-6888 and at 35 Arcadia Rd., Old Greenwich, (203) 637-2033,
