MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- In this season of giving why not help fund a hot chocolate food truck?

Maria Valente, owner of Chocolations in Mamaroneck is hoping her iFundWomen campaign will bring in the monies needed to source an eco-friendly food truck that delivers hot chocolate, coffee, and other treats to the sidelines of kids' soccer games.

It's an idea that's been brewing for a long time. Valente, who has two grown children, still vividly recalls sitting on the sidelines of many a soccer game stone cold and wishing a food truck would come by with hot coffee or cocoa.

Valente, whose 10-year-old shop has long supported local teams, said it's always bothered her that parents tend to bring coffee from national chains to the fields when none of those companies support their child's teams.

It's why she is hoping a wave of community spirit will translate to a locally run, locally supported food truck committed to the area. She has turned to iFund Women, a crowdsourcing effort which concentrates on women-led businesses.

Valente is asking the public for donations in any amount. In keeping with her chocolate theme, her IFundWomen website features level options such as  "Brownie," ""Truffle," "White Chocolate Bark" and "Hot Chocolate." Her goal is $75,000.00, with the fund ending on a "sweet" note of Feb. 14, 2017.
