While the menu is similar to the New Rochelle location, Modern on the Rails features more diverse offerings like branzino dusted with olive oil, minced garlic and fresh herbs and blackened scallops over mushroom risotto.
Among the restaurant's crown jewels: an extensive raw bar featuring as oysters, clams, shrimp, and king crab legs.
The other delight? The space itself: the historic old Mamaroneck train station waiting room recreated with rustic elegance, exposed brick, and stained-glass windows. The restaurant is already decorated for Christmas and taking holiday reservations.
