Good Shepherd Distillery, set to open at 360 Mount Pleasant Avenue in Mamaroneck Saturday, April 2, is a New York farm distillery meaning it uses New York agriculture for all of its products.

Initial items will include vodka and brandy, both made from grapes. "Down the line we will be offering cherry brandy, flavored vodkas like coffee and chilli, and eventually we will be producing whiskeys," said Miata.

Upon opening though, Miata will just have the barrel aged brandy and the vodka but eventually hopes to have the other products listed above. Distribution will be very local at first, most likely in bars, restaurants and liquor stores in the Mamaroneck, Larchmont and Harrison area.

He also plans to offer tours, tasting and selling bottles directly out of the facility and will have a retail area and a tasting bar. For the first year or so Good Shepherd will only be open to the public on the weekends (primarily Saturday) though Miata may also do special events on weeknights and weekends.
