ARMONK, N.Y. -- A few boxes and a laptop. That's what many divorced and separated men bring to a new home when they move, according to Tanhya Schimel and Patty Frischman.
And so, to help them with this new life phase, the two women -- Schimel lives in Armonk, Frischman in Bedford-- started a lifestyle service and design company which helps men ease into this new transition.
SimplyHome2, founded in Fall, 2015, provides a comprehensive service that coordinates every logistic of settling into a new home.
The two came up with the concept through their own personal experiences. "Meeting and speaking to newly divorced and separated men we saw that, for the most part, these men were living in very sparse like, bachelor-esque homes," said Frischman.
"Most men weren't involved in setting up or decorating their previous marital homes and have no idea what is needed from decor to everyday essentials to make their houses feel like homes. Creating a 'homey' atmosphere eases the transition and gives a sense of stability for everyone during this new phase of their lives."
SimplyHome 2 facilitates all aspects for an effortless move, tailoring design and décor to each individual’s needs, often times ensuring that the parent has the essentials for a kid’s game room, along with other amenities, often with a quick time frame.
So far, the business, which the two have promoted solely via word of mouth, has catered to clients in Manhattan, Long Island, New Jersey, and Connecticut, as well as all of Westchester.
Both women bring a fount of experience. Frischman, a self-described perfectionist, worked in fashion and founded a dress division for J&R Wholesale in Los Angeles where she managed the entire division, from creative to sales.
Schimel, who prides herself on her strong eye for décor and design, previously worked in the finance industry.
