Westchester Native Named CBS Interactive's President, COO

Marc DeBevoise, a graduate of Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua, was named president and chief operating officer of CBS Interactive on Tuesday.

CBS Interactive, a division of the CBS Corporation, is an online content network with websites covering news, sports, entertainment, business and technology. It includes CBS.com, CBSNews.com and CBSSports.com.

DeBevoise most recently served as executive vice president and general manager of CBS Digital Media. He led the launch of CBS News’ 24-hour digital streaming news service, as well as the launch of CBSN and the network’s streaming of Super Bowl 50 across all devices.

“CBS Interactive is such an important part of our entire company’s strategy for the future,” said CBS chairman and CEO Les Moonves, in a statement. “Elevating Marc into this expanded role, on the heels of Jim (Lanzone) becoming our chief digital officer, ensures that we will continue down a path of innovation, finding new ways to distribute our world-class content however consumers want to interact with it.”

“Marc has played an instrumental role in building CBS Interactive into a perennial top 10 Internet property and the largest Internet-based premium-content group in the world,” said Lanzone. “Since joining CBS Interactive, Marc has led some of the most significant areas of the business, specifically building CBS All Access and CBSN into highly successful digital initiatives for CBS.”

DeBevoise joined CBS in 2011 from Starz, where was senior vp of digital media, business development and strategy.

A basketball standout at Greeley, DeBevoise is a graduate of Tufts, DeBevoise obtained a Master's degree from NYU.

DeBevoise now lives in New York City.
