Ellen Wink, age 61, of Norwalk, was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 20, and charged with the murder of 54-year-old Kurt Lametta, who lived at the Nelson Avenue home where he was found shot to death, said Lieutenant Terrence Blake, of the Norwalk Police.

Wink is Norwalk's Republican deputy registrar of voters who previously served as city clerk from 2009 to 2011.

According to Blake, Lametta was found just before noon on Jan. 20 when officers responded to the home for a disturbance call that involved Wink.

Once inside the home located at 16 Nelson Ave., officers found Lametta who had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead on the scene, Blake said.

Wink, who remained at the scene, was immediately detained, he added.

An investigation led to her arrest, Blake said.

"The investigation remains ongoing at this time however we want to reiterate that this is an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public," Blake said.

This is the second arrest for Wink who was arrested in September after a dispute with her tenant, who was identified by police as a 54-year-old man.

During that arrest, Wink locked the man out of the home. She also allegedly threw away his personal belongings, including clothes, jewelry, and cash, police said at the time of the arrest, according to the New York Times.

Wink who was charged with murder is being held on a $1 million bond and is scheduled to be in court on Tuesday, Feb. 1.
