First responders were dispatched to a building fire that was reported at 135 Clinton Ave. in Hempstead at 3:24 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 6.

Officials said that the Hempstead Fire Department responded with the assistance of 15 other area departments to extinguish the blaze, which led to three residents being transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Flames could be seen billowing through the windows of one of the units until firefighters could knock down the fire.

The Nassau County Police Arson Bomb squad responded along with the Nassau County Fire Marshall and are currently investigating. The fire does not appear to be suspicious at this time officials said.
