DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. -- True stories. Real People. Real Pie.

That's the theme behind Pros(e) of Pie, an annual event taking place at Curious- on-Hudson in Dobbs Ferry, Saturday, Feb. 27.

The event is inspired by urban storytelling series like NPR's "The Moth," and has been going on, in some form or another, since June 2013, always with different themes.

The show was founded and is produced by Ivy Eisenberg, an experienced comedian, humor writer and start-up consultant who lives in White Plains and Sleepy Hollow resident Zak Shusterman a non-profit / IP attorney who's involved in a range of community initiatives.

"Since this is a form of entertainment some aren't familiar with, we lure you in by combining it with a monthly pie bake-off," said Shusterman. "So you end up with an evening tasting delicious locally made pies and hearing incredible true stories from both neighbors and nationally renowned entertainers."

He expects about 50 people for the event -- a few tickets are still left -- with most of the stories geared for adult audiences.

Next up for the group: shows on March 19 and April 16. The two hold events throughout Westchester and Fairfield counties, so far mainly in Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow, Scarsdale, Stamford and Western New York (at the Chautauqua Institute) but Shusterman said they are planning on expanding to a few additional Westchester towns this year.

Pros(e) of Pie is at 8 p.m. on Saturday with the theme "Technical Difficulties." Go to www.proseofpie.com/ for more information.
