Meryl Comer’s book “Slow Dancing With a Stranger,” is about her experience with her husband Dr. Harvey Gralnick being diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s in 1996.

Gralnick, who once headed hematology and oncology research at the National Institutes of Health, declined fairly quickly in his ability to remember the information that had once been stored in his mind with encyclopedic accuracy.

“Nothing I do is really about me; it’s all about making sure no one ends up like me,” Comer wrote in her book.

The free program is sponsored by the Friends of the Larchmont Public Library.

Refreshments will be served starting at 3:30 p.m., with the event beginning at 4 p.m.

Larchmont Village Center is at 121 Larchmont Ave.
