Garden Club Of Larchmont Focuses On John Bartram At Fundraising Luncheon

LARCHMONT, N.Y -- The Garden Club of Larchmont will hold its annual fundraising luncheon, featuring a presentation on John Bartram, an early American botanist, at the Larchmont Shore Club, 1 Oak Bluff Ave.,on Thursday Nov. 6 at 11:30 a.m.

There will be a presentation by Kirk Brown on Bartram, a friend of George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. Bartram was commissioned by King George III to document known plants and species in the colonies. He was credited with reforesting the English countryside with the new “American” plant introductions.

Kirk will be in period costume to entertain as this inspirational man.

Reservations at $55 per person may be made through Jeanne Kiernan at 10 Woody Lane, Larchmont.
