The exhibit runs from Monday, Dec. 1 through Wednesday, Dec. 31.
The photos were taken by Tapani Talo, a Westchester County resident, architect, photographer and during the time the photographs were taken, a sound engineer for some of the most iconic bands of the era.
The exhibit is open during normal library hours. In addition to the month-long exhibit, beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7, there will be a wine and cheese reception for Talo. Then at 4 p.m., Talo will share a multi-media presentation that will include excerpts from live as well as studio recordings -- many never released -- featuring bands such as Fleetwood Mac in 1969, John Mayall with Keith Relf from the Yardbirds on vocals, the Rolling Stones, Deep Purple and Bad Company.
At the conclusion of the presentation, there will be a question and answer session.
From 1973 to 1977, while based on London, Talo worked with the Rolling Stones as a sound engineer at their Mobile Studio, recording them and other leading Rock and Roll bands of the time.
During that time he studied as an architect at North East London Polytechnic (with their 'avant garde' Green program), graduating with honors. Beginning in these years and continuing as a lifelong pursuit, he has dedicated extensive study to art museums, painting, photography and art as both a hobby and as an intellectual corner stone for architecture and real practice of it.
Besides photos from the Rolling Stones 1970 show in Helsinki, Finland, other highlights of the exhibit include rare performance images of Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, Cream and Blind Faith and several others.
