This years marks 50 years since he co-founded the Jefferson Airplane, and there's a new documentary on his studio and performance place, the Fur Peace Ranch.
His latest solo album, "Ain't in No Hurry," is a collection of Kaukonen originals, blues, rockers and classic American songs.
Special guests include Jormaʼs longtime Hot Tuna partner, Jack Casady, multi-instrumentalist Barry Mitterhoff, Larry Campbell on all matter of strings, Teresa Williams on backing vocals, and the rhythm section of Myron Hart and Justin Guip.
Kaukonen will be touring through the rest of the year, both for this release and with Casady with Hot Tuna dates.
