OSSINING, N.Y. Residents have a lot to vote for on Tuesday, with four contested elections for Ossining offices and one contested race for County Legislator District 9, which covers Ossining, Briarcliff Manor, Cortlandt and Croton.
Current Town Supervisor Catherine Borgia and Croton resident Susan Konig are running for County Legislator. Borgia is running on the Democrat, Independence and Working Families lines, while Konig, a former Village of Croton trustee, is running on the Conservative and Republican lines. There is no incumbent for the race because current County Legislator Bill Burton is retiring.
For Ossining town supervisor, Peter Tripodi IV, current town council member, is running against Susanne Donnelly, an Ossining village trustee who has served five years on the village board. Tripodi is running on the Republican, Conservative and Independence party lines, while Donnelly is running on the Democratic and Working Families lines.
For Ossining town council, four candidates, Stephen Dewey, Kim Izzarelli, Eric Blaha and Geoffrey Harter, are vying for two seats. Dewey, the chair of the local Republican committee, is running on the Republican and Conservative lines along with running mate Izzarelli. Harter, an incumbent who has been on the town council for nearly 20 years, is running on the Democratic, Independence and Working Families lines while his running mate, Blaha, is running on the Democratic and Working Families lines.
Two seats are also open on the Ossining Village Board. Robert Daraio, Manuel Quezada, Robert Fritsche and Robert Terilli are competing for the seats. Daraio and Quezada are on the Democrat, Independence Party and Working Families tickets while Fritsche and Terilli are on the Republican and Conservative party tickets.
For the Ossining town court, which is expected to be consolidated with the Village of Ossining's court in January, there are two open seats. Three candidates, incumbent John Fried, who has served on the court since March, John Mangialardi and Mike Tawil, a current town council member, are competing for the seats. Fried is endorsed by the Democratic, Republican, Conservative and Independence party lines while Mangialardi is endorsed by the Republican, Conservative and Independence lines and Tawil is endorsed by the Democratic line.
