John Gardner Wins Pelham Justice Race

PELHAM N.Y. -- Republican John Gardner easily held off a challenge from Frederick Dettmer Tuesday night to capture a four-year term as Pelham Town Justice.

With 100 percent of the votes counted, Gardner, who also ran on the Independence line, had 2,788 votes and Dettmer, running on the Democratic line, tallied 1,785, according to unofficial results from the Westchester County Board of Elections.

Gardner was appointed to the position by the town board Jan. 27, taking over for ailing Justice Stephen Huff.

Gardner practices law in Rye, N.Y.

Dettmer has a law practice at 340 Corlies Ave. in Pelham.
