U.S. Sen. Murphy Bringing 'Fed Up' Town Hall To Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. -- U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) will hold a town hall at the Norwalk Public Library to hear directly from Connecticut residents who may be fed up with the state of Connecticut's roads and traffic, on Sunday, Feb. 28.

Murphy will take the feedback and stories he hears back to Washington, as he works for increased investments in Connecticut's transportation system.

Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling, State Sen. Bob Duff and Mark Abraham, executive director of Data Haven -- a nonprofit organization that analyzes public data on transit systems and economic development -- will join Murphy at the town hall.

All members of the public are invited to attend.

As part of his "Fed Up" listening campaign, Murphy called on U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx to collaborate with him and Connecticut's commuters to secure federal investments in the state's transportation infrastructure. Just a few months later, in December 2015, Congress passed -- for the first time in a decade -- a long-term $305 billion transportation bill that preserves funding sources for Connecticut and authorizes more than $1.4 billion of investments in Amtrak and rail safety along the Northeast Corridor.

The meeting will begin at 11 a.m. in at the Norwalk Public Library, at 1 Belden Ave., in Norwalk.
