NEW CANAAN, Conn. — New Canaan Police are warning the public after three residential burglaries have occurred in town since Dec. 10.

The most recent occurred Friday at a Douglas Road home just after 5 p.m., police said. A glass pane window broken on a rear door was broken, and suspects reached in to unlock door. All the bedrooms were ransacked, and jewelry and change were taken, police said. 

Surveillance video captured three Hispanic males ringing the front doorbell several times before forcing entry to the home, police said. The males were speaking Spanish while inside the residence. 

A silver or gray four-door sedan was also captured on a neighbor's camera around the time of the burglary, police said. This burglary was reported to the New Canaan Police by the homeowner after receiving an alert on their phone from the home video surveillance system that there was motion in the home. The homeowner was able to view a suspect walking inside the home, police said.

On Dec. 10 a burglary occurred on Gower Road between 9 a.m. and 10:20 p.m. A side door was forced open, and the bedrooms were ransacked, police said. Jewelry, passports and other items were taken, police said. A neighbor saw a small white pickup truck in the driveway, police said. The homeowner contacted the New Canaan Police upon returning home and discovering the burglary.

The third burglary occurred on Rosebrook Road between 11 a.m. Dec. 10 and noon the following day, police said. Bedrooms were ransacked and jewelry was taken, police said. The homeowner contacted the New Canaan Police upon returning home and discovering the burglary.
