Rakyia Talley, 46, of Laurel, is the first suspect to be arrested and taken into custody following the fatal shooting of Antwaun D. Conyers earlier this week, according to an Anne Arundel County Police spokesperson.

Conyers, 32, was shot in the 3500 block of Russett Green East around 10:15 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 8. He was found by police on the sidewalk and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police found a possible connection between Conyers and the suspects, and determined that the incident was targeted and not a random act of violence.

"Homicide detectives continued to develop leads and examine gathered evidence," the spokesperson said. "Through investigative means, one of the involved suspects was located and taken into custody without incident.

"This remains a fluid investigation, and updates will follow."

Anyone with information regarding the shooting has been asked to contact detectives at the Anne Arundel County Police Department by calling 410-222-4731 or the Anne Arundel County Police Tip Line at 410-222-4700.
