LARCHMONT, N.Y. The Larchmont Arts Festival celebrated its 10th year Saturday with with 80 artists displaying and selling their work on the lawn of Village Hall.
Festival founder Palmer Davis said he and other artists were approached by people in Village Hall 10 years ago who were looking for a way to celebrate the arts in Larchmont. Davis said that the festival has grown from something small to an annual tradition in the village.
When you look around you can see that it has grown, Davis said. It has really become an annual Larchmont tradition that Im really proud to be a part of. I think Larchmont has a long tradition of the arts and creative folks. We are proud to give the artists a voice and a platform to share their passions and provide the community with this incredible resource.
Larchmont Arts Festival Committee Member Michele Wenzler said she had no idea when it began that the festival would grow to what it has become. Wenzler said the committee worked hard to publicize the festival, which has resulted in more people attending.
Its a great way to promote the arts in this community, Wenzler said. Our intention is to celebrate and have a great time.
