LARCHMONT, N.Y. -- Did you know that only 15% of textile waste is recycled in the U.S.?
You can learn more about how to be "greener" with the debut of Green Tree Textiles at Saturday's opening day of the outdoor Larchmont Farmer's Market.
Green Tree Textiles will accept unwanted clothes, shoes, accessories and household linens for recycling and will appear on the first Saturday of every month from now through December. Go here for more information.
The market opens at 8:30 a.m. and goes until 1 p.m. At 10 a.m. to noon there will be a special "Make a Mother's Day Card" activity for kids. During that same time period there will also be live music with Ed Packer.
