All community members are welcome. The Board of Education encourages residents to consider attending the meeting that is being held at the elementary school for which children are zoned; however, if that is not possible, residents are welcome to choose one of the other meetings to attend.  The listening tour meetings are scheduled for 7 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, Nov. 19 -- Mamaroneck Avenue School.
  • Wednesday, Jan. 7 -- Chatsworth Avenue School.
  • Thursday, Jan. 15 -- Murray Avenue School.
  • Tuesday, Jan. 27 -- Central School.

The purpose of these meetings is for board members and the superintendent to hear community members’ thoughts about the educational experience of Mamaroneck students – what you value, what’s working and ongoing challenges.

These meetings will not include discussion of a school-based health center model. A school-based health center task force -- made up of administrators, school board members, parent representatives and a district nurse -- is researching what health needs, if any, exist among the elementary school population and whether a school-based health center could meet those needs.

The task force will present its findings to the board at a public meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 20, and at another meeting before that (date to be announced) to receive community input.
