Mamaroneck Board To Meet With USDA On Goose Plan

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- The Village of Mamaroneck Board of Trustees will meet with the U.S. Department of Agriculture at Monday evening's work session to discuss the terms of the contract to deal with Mamaroneck's goose population.

Trustee Ilissa Miller, who introduced the option of changing the terms at last week's Board meeting, said that the U.S.DA. will present the current contract and then there will be a discussion on amending it.

"If we cancel the contract, we will have to give them 120 days notice to abide by the cancellation terms; however, you don't need 120 days if you mutually cancel," Miller said. "So my thought is that if they can't accommodate our requirements, there will be an opportunity to mutually cancel."
