Mamaroneck Library Has Halloween Week Events for Kids, Teens

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- The Mamaroneck Public Library is hosting several Halloween-themed events this week for kids and teens.

There will be a Halloween poetry open mic night at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28 hosted by neighborhood poet Shameka Hamlet. Bring your poetry, your friends and your sweet tooth. The event is open to middle- and high-school-aged teens.

Join Miss Emma for "Spooky Storytelling" at 7 p.m. Hear scary stories to chill your bones. All ages welcome.

There will be pumpkin painting at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30. Learn the art of stenciling and other techniques from local crafter Jamie Weisinger. Open to grades 4-12. Call to register as space and supplies are limited

Everyone plays a part in "Picture Book Theater" at 4 p.m. You can help bring a new picture book to life each week. Open to grades K-5.

There also will be several Halloween-themed story times.

Pre-school story time:

Ages 3-5

Oct. 30 at 10:30 a.m.

Oct. 31 at 2 p.m.

Toddlertime:

Ages 18-36 months with a caregiver

Oct. 31 at 10:30 a.m.

After-school stories:

Grades K-5 Oct. 31 at 4 p.m.
