According to Jason Daniels, chief operating officer of the beverage warehouse Half Time who sponsored the event, folks came in their rain boots, walked in the mud and seemed to have “more fun by drinking more.”

Though he says he and his team fielded a lot of phone calls before the 12 p.m. start wondering if the event was still on, in the end, it all worked out fine. He guestimates they drew about 4,000 people, give or take a few hundred as “the numbers aren’t all in yet.” Plus by then, the rain had more or less stopped.

“We honestly had no idea what to expect but were really happy with the result,” he says of the beverage giant's first foray into Mamaroneck. The festival showcased over 115 domestic and international breweries, some of which created signature brews just for the event.

There were also 20 local and regional food vendors including Mamaroneck’s Chocolations, Walter’s Hot Dogs and Crazy Spuds. Also on hand: Harrison’s Craftsman Ale House, and Dobbs Ferry’s Cookery’s DoughNation pizza truck. Daniels says he plans to hold the event within the same time frame next year (ideally in the first two weeks of October) – shooting for 10,000 people – with hopes for taking over the entire Harbor Island park for the third year with the goal of attracting 30,000.
