The event, sponsored by Enterprise Rent-A-Car, brought back to campus a group of distinguished alumni-athletes who specialize in the fields of business, criminal justice/public service and education.

The event began with introductions where each alumnus briefly spoke about what they do for a living, how they got to their current position and what they learned as a student-athlete while at Pace.

For the second portion of the program, student-athletes were placed in different rooms based on their career concentration. Each group engaged in open dialog and discussed topics regarding what industries look for in each hire, resume and interview tips, how to get the most out of their student-athlete status, as well as other industry specific information.

By the end of each of these sessions, Pace student-athletes gained insight on how to further develop their networking and leadership skills to become effective leaders in the future. The night concluded with a 30 minute networking session accompanied by refreshments.

Current student-athletes felt that the event was a very positive experience.

“My teammates and I learned a lot, including how to leverage experiences we have as student-athletes in the working world," said Margo Hackett, member of the women’s basketball team and SACC president. "It’s really encouraging to see successful people who were in our shoes once.”

The “Career Super Panel” will be organized routinely throughout each semester moving forward. If you are a former student-athlete from Pace who would like to get involved in a future event contact Zach Dayton, assistant athletics director/external operations at 914- 773-3272 or zdayton@pace.edu.
