Woodruff is The New York Times bestselling co-author of "In an Instant: A Family’s Journey of Love and Healing" and author of "Perfectly Imperfect: A Life in Progress and Those We Love Most."

Tickets at $65 per person can be purchased online. Room to Read Westchester is partnering with local bookstore The Voracious Reader in this event where Woodruff’s books will be sold and can be signed by the author. All proceeds will benefit Room to Read, a global non-profit organization seeking to transform the lives of millions of children in Asia and Africa by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education.

Woodruff co-authored "In an Instant" with her husband and ABC News correspondent, Bob Woodruff, which chronicled their family’s journey to recovery following Bob Woodruff's roadside bomb injury in Iraq in 2006. The couple founded the Bob Woodruff Foundation to help injured veterans, service members and families heal from the wounds of war. Lee Woodruff published her second book "Perfectly Imperfect" in 2009, a reflection on the many roles played by a modern American wife, mother, daughter, and friend.

The beneficiary of this fundraising luncheon, Room to Read, is a global organization that was founded in 2000. It works in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations and governments in low-income countries to develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children and ensure girls can complete secondary school with the skills necessary to negotiate key life decisions. Room to Read has benefited 10 million children across 17,500 communities in Asia and Africa, and aims to reach 15 million children by 2020. Learn more at their website.
