Englewood Library Hosts Caryl Swain in Discussion on Dog Training

ENGLEWOOD, N.J. — The Englewood Public Library is going to the dogs Saturday with a presentation from Caryl Swain of Canine Companions for Independence.

Swain -- who's a volunteer service puppy raiser and trainer for Canine Companions for Independence -- will present a DVD about dogs and will bring Ty, her service dog, and Forrest, her therapy dog.

Canine Companions for Independence is a nationwide nonprofit organization devoted to raising and training therapy dogs to be placed with disabled adults and children.

The public is welcome to pet the dogs at this free 3 p.m. event.
