A Taste Of Larchmont To Help Fight Domestic Violence

LARCHMONT, N.Y. — Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty will partner with My Sisters' Place, a Westchester County-based organization that works to fight domestic violence, in hosting a fundraising A Taste of Larchmont restaurant crawl. The event takes place Saturday from 3-5:30 p.m.

The company is selling tickets to the event for $50 and will also make its own donation. Additional funds will be raised through a company-held silent auction, featuring items donated from local Larchmont merchants. All money raised will go directly to My Sisters’ Place in support of its efforts to end domestic violence by helping victims while focusing on community education and prevention.

My Sisters’ Place also combats human trafficking throughout Westchester County and offers advocacy, shelter and legal services to those in need.

Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty hosted a similar event in Rye in 2014 and raised more than $30,000 for My Sisters’ Place. The company hopes to raise even more during the May event.

Purchase of a ticket allows participants to “sip, snack and stroll,” gaining them a drink and a specially prepared appetizer by the chef at each of seven restaurants featured on the tasting tour, Coriander, Encore Bistro, Polpettina, Anna-Maria’s, Sherwood’s, Apiary, and Auray Gourmet. Also, Post Wine & Spirits, will offer wine and cheese.

The Larchmont Chamber of Commerce plans to donate a trolley to take visitors around the village throughout the day, as well as provide transportation to and from the train station.

“Peace in the world begins with peace at home. The services My Sisters’ Place provides are deeply important in achieving peace and ending domestic violence in our communities, and it is an honor for us to support them,” said  Carolyn Fugere, Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty Larchmont brokerage manager. “I am also grateful that such an impressive selection of Larchmont restaurants and merchants are rallying to the cause.”

Tickets can be purchased online at www.atasteoflarchmont.com and exchanged for a wristband at the company’s Larchmont brokerage, 1946 Palmer Ave., on Friday or Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
