Monday, Feb. 11

Young People's "Hairspray" Auditions at the Westchester Sandbox Theatre: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The WST announces auditions for its YPT Teens production of "Hairspray," a Tony Award-winning musical. Auditions are open to performers in grades nine through 12. Auditions go through Tuesday, Feb. 12. Registration fee is $395.

Duct Tape Crafts at the Larchmont Public Library: 4 p.m. Richela Fabian Morgan supplies everything you need to make a cool Valentine theme duct tape craft. Choose one of three crafts: small heart shaped pillow, pencil case or cell phone case. This free event is for kids in grades six and up. The Larchmont Public Library is located at 121 Larchmont Ave.

Tuesday, Feb. 12

Local Summit Breakfast Forum on Health Care Law: 7:45 a.m. Come to the Nautilus Diner to hear Mark Hannay, director of the Metro New York Health Care for All Campaign, discuss the benefits as well as gaps in coverage relating to the Affordable Care Act and what it means for Larchmont-Mamaroneck residents. The event is $8 to attend. The Nautilus Diner is located at 1240 Boston Post Road in Mamaroneck.

Second and Third Grade Book Club: 3:30 p.m. Kids can enjoy reviewing and discussing the book of the month at the Larchmont Public Library. Books will be available on the Book Group Shelf in the Reference Room on the Main Floor three weeks before the program. Registration is not required and the event is free. A caregiver must be in the building at all times.

Wednesday, Feb. 13

Tea with Valerie O'Keefe at the Mamaroneck Women's Club: 12 p.m. The Woman's Club of Mamaroneck invites you to a Dessert Tea with Valerie O’Keefe, former Mamaroneck Town Supervisor, who will provide an update on events affecting Mamaroneck and Larchmont. The event is $5 to attend. The Woman's Club is located at 504 Cortlandt Ave. in Mamaroneck. For more information, call Clare at 914-381-6985.

Thursday, Feb. 14

Picture Book Theater at the Mamaroneck Public Library: 4 p.m. Help bring a picture book to life at this children's event. This free event is for kids in kindergarten to third grade. Call 914-630-5894? to register. The Mamaroneck Public Library is located at 136 Prospect Ave. in Mamaroneck.

Teen Book Club at The Larchmont Public Library: 6:30 p.m. This month the book to be discussed is "UNRAVELING" by Elizabeth Norris. Copies are available on the Book Group Shelf in the Reference Room. No registration required. This free event is for teens in grades six through nine. The event meets in the Michael P. Coords Activity Room.

Exploring World Cultures: China: 7 p.m. Come out to the Larchmont Public Library for this exciting program about Chinese history, its classic stories, rich traditions, and art forms. The free program will focus on Chinese history and provide a brief overview of key dynasties, classic stories and fascinating characters from Chinese literature, and classic Chinese dance (Shen Yun) and Chinese musical instruments. 

Friday, Feb. 15

Donna Ulisse and the Poor Mountain Boys at the Emelin Theater: 8 p.m. Bluegrass singer-songwriter Emelin makes her first appearance at the Emelin.  The event is $15 students, $26 advanced and $29 the day of the show. The Emelin Theater is located at 153 Library Lane in Mamaroneck.
