What To Do In Mamaroneck, Larchmont This Weekend

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- A bluegrass concert, a furniture drive and a St. Patrick's Day Parade are just a few of the events happening this weekend in Mamaroneck and Larchmont.

Friday, March 15

Della Mae at the Emelin Theatre: 8 p.m. This group of young women has been the talk of the bluegrass world since their series of showcases at IBMA in 2011. Their entertaining show encompasses both original and traditional material performed with personality, imagination and flair, including outstanding instrumentals and vocals featuring two-time Grand Masters Fiddle Champion Kimber Ludiker. Cost is $15 for students; $33 in advance; $36 on day of show. The Emelin Theatre is located at 153 Library Lane.

Saturday, March 16

Furniture Drive at Mamaroneck High School: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students from Mamaroneck High School’s Furniture Sharehouse service club are holding a drive to benefit the furniture bank, which redistributes the items for free to families in need. Only basic home furniture in good condition will be accepted. Before you load up your car, visit the warehouse's website to make sure your furniture meets the donation guidelines. The drive will take place in the parking lot at Mamaroneck High School, 1000 W. Boston Post Road, rain or shine.

Sunday, March 17

Sound Shore St. Patrick's Day Parade: 1:30 p.m. An exciting line-up from across the Sound Shore area will march in the second annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. Come watch the O’Rourke Academy of Irish Dance, the Iona Pipers, the Knights of Columbus, the NYPD Emerald Society Pipes and Drums, the Salesian High School Marching Band, Girl Scout Troops and more go down Mamaroneck Avenue in Mamaroneck.
