Beneath the Surface: Teen Summer Movie Mondays at Mamaroneck Library.  5 p.m. All Movies Rated PG/PG-13. Open to grades 6-12. Light refreshments provided. Free.  Mamaroneck Library, 136 Prospect Ave., Mamaroneck.

Montessori Mommy and Me at Larchmont Library. 10:30 a.m. Ages 18 months to 3 years. Come experience an introduction to a Montessori Environment with your child, guided by a local Montessori teacher and mom, Meghan Rinehart. Learn as a community hands-on ways to develop an environment in which practical skills are used to foster a child's concentration, independence and self-esteem. Free. August Sings in Larchmont. 7:30-9 pm. Westchester Chorale hosts Summer Sings at the Larchmont Avenue Church three Tuesdays in August. 7:30 p m. 60 Forest Park Ave., Larchmont. $10 ($5 for students) includes refreshments and use of a rental score.

Wednesday, August 14

Larchmont Family Matinee Movie presents: “42.” 11 a.m. Meet in the Village Center. Starring Chadwick Boseman, Harrison Ford and Nicole Beharie. The life story of Jackie Robinson and his history-making signing with the Brooklyn Dodgers under the guidance of team executive Branch Rickey. Rated PG-13. Free.
