MAMARONECK, N.Y. – The Mamaroneck Public Library is hosting "Dog Days of August" and Larchmont is having its weekly farmers' market. Those are just some of the events taking place around Mamaroneck and Larchmont this weekend.
Friday, Aug. 17
Fridays with Franklin: All day. Come meet Franklin, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Franklin enjoys being read to (and any other attention as well). The Voracious Reader, 1997 Palmer Ave., Larchmont.
Rotary Club of Larchmont Meeting: 12:15 p.m. The Rotary Club of Larchmont has an active guest speaker program every Friday. At most weekly meetings, presentations are made of subjects that interest its members and the community in general. The meetings are open to the public. The Dog Days of August: 2-4 p.m. Calling all dog lovers! Mamaroneck Public Library invites you to join us for the celebration. Our program will include some very special guests: Mamaroneck Police Officer Frank Maresca and his canine partner Neal, Dr. Laura Twedt, DVM, and therapy dogs Charly, Nettie and Olivia and their handlers.
