Chianti doesn’t get much respect. But that’s all about to change, if Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich have anything to say about it. Sept. 20, Batali’s Tarry Lodge in Port Chester will host a four-course tasting dinner paired with Chiantis from the celebrated and award-winning producer Fattoria di Felsina.

You’ll get more than a good meal, too. A representative from the winery will talk to guests about Chianti’s history and characteristics, helping to dispel the myth that Chianti is a second class wine.

What’s on the menu?

Raw Porcini Salad with Arugula, Parmigiano-Reggiano, and Aceto Manadori
I Sistri Chardonnay 2008
Coach Farm Goat Cheese Agnolotti with Dried Orange and Wild Fennel Pollen
