In the show, performed Friday Feb. 12, the storyline consisted of a dream-catcher visiting a camp known as the “Creative Productions Workshop,” better known to some as CPW, and asking all campers about their dreams.

Each of the performers went about saying their dream and fulfilling it in front of an audience full of peers and staff.

Dreams included singing songs, playing the piano, and reciting poems.

“More than a Dream” was written by Paul Bottari and Billy Ayres and produced by Benjamin Montgomery.

Performers included individuals from the school, Day Habilitation, and Vocational Programs along with CPW staff.

Billy Ayres is the founder of Lifeline Theater, a nonprofit organization that provides an outlet for unlocking the potential of children and adults with special needs through integrated arts and life skills programs.

By singing, dancing, and creating plays, individuals realize their own strengths and potential contributions to their communities.

When Ayres was asked about working with the organization, he stated “When you open your heart to a child or adult with special needs, the most beautiful, wondrous, powerful part of you is exposed. Therein lies the 'Genius in Healing,' the healing that occurs is reciprocal. Opening up your heart to another actually brings out the best in you.”

Cerebral Palsy of Westchester is a nonprofit organization in Westchester County that provides essential services to children and adults with all developmental disabilities including autism, neurological impairments, intellectual disabilities, epilepsy and cerebral palsy.
