Cuisine At Mamaroneck's Spice Kitchen Earns High Marks In New York Times

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Spice Kitchen, a North Indian restaurant on Mamaroneck Avenue, may lack adequate service, but makes up for that short coming with "tasty" main dishes and breads that are "particularly good," according a review in The New York Times.

Emily DeNitto, a Times food critic, panned the restaurant's service as "inconsistent," but praised owner Shalini Sharma for her efforts to introduce Indian food to new audiences.

DeNitto liked several of the courses, including the tomato soup, scallop tikki, honey garlic shrimp, tangy eggplant; tandoori chicken, lamb chops, chicken tikka masala, shrimp korma and chicken curry.

Also highlighted in the review are the restaurant's spacious setting and full bar menu.
