The program, which begins Friday, April 10 at 12:30 p.m., will teach participants how to provide one-on-one support to caregivers primarily through telephone contact. The course will be given in three 4-hour sessions on April 10, 17 and 24, and participants must register and be willing to make a one-year commitment to provide caregiver-coaching support.

Caregiver Coaches become a stabilizing force and sounding board for those providing care. Their training gives them the practical information to educate caregivers about various options and empowers them to set priorities and make sound, educated decisions.

The Livable Communities Caregivers Coaching program is spearheaded by the Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services and is part of the department’s Livable Communities: A Vision for All Ages – Bringing People and Places Together initiative.

Those interested should call the Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services at 914-0813-6300.
