Mamaroneck's 'Circles Of Peace' Promotes Nonviolence This Father's Day

MAMARONECK, N.Y. – Mamaroneck-based activist group Circles of Peace is inviting residents to gather at Harbor Island Park on Sunday, June 16 to support nonviolence for a half hour.

The informal gathering will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will feature 30 minutes of inspirational words, music, meditation and prayer.  All are welcome.

Circles of Peace was founded by Hilde Friderichs, a Reiki Master practitioner from Mamaroneck and mother of two, following the Newtown school shooting tragedy as a way to give people in Westchester’s Sound Shore area the “opportunity to gather, promote healing and live life in a more mindful way,” a press release said.

The first Circles of Peace gathering was held on last month’s Mother’s Day.
