The establishment, open since 1998, is owned by Olga Santos and her son, Carlos, a business Olga started after several years in the United States working as a house cleaner, baby sitter and waitress doing catering, said The New York Times.

The New York Times called the establishment "welcoming" and "light-filled."

Early on, the location needed much renovation, work done mostly by Santos and her son and with help from members of their church in Connecticut, said the report.

The restaurant's name in English means "Here Is Holy Faith," and dishes have named based in the Bible, because religion is "central to their lives," according to The New York Times.

Dishes here include arepas, empanadas and tostones, said the review, which also called Aqui Es Santa Fe a "cozy cafe."

A sauce prepared with Gorgonzola and other ingredients was cited for imparting "just the right amount of sharpness" to a chicken dish in The New York Times.

Other dishes include a "standout" ceviche of shrimp and squid, served inside purple cabbage with lentil puree, said the Times report.
