Not that an intrepid restaurant-goer ever needs an excuse to dine out on great food, but if you do, Mamaroneck is the place and Restaurant Week March 18-31 is the time. However, it would behoove you to make your reservations well in advance.
Thats right, the seventh annual Hudson Valley Restaurant Week is just around the corner. And this year, its bigger than ever. We were just blown away, says Nancy Gold, a spokeswoman for the event, of the overwhelming interest. Were up to 198 participating restaurants in seven counties.
Participating restaurants in Mamaroneck include Le Provencal Bistro, a family-owned Mediterranean and French bistro whose menu highlights include soft shell crab provencal, sautéed sea scallops with chardonnay and beurre blanc, and many other regional specialties.
But dont stop going out for dinner after only one or two meals. Enzos Restaurant, Il Castello, Nemea Greek Taverna, Turkish Meze Restaurant and Zitoune Restaurant will also be offering Restaurant Week specials.
Eat out for lunch ($20.95) or for dinner ($29.95), and remember to tip your server. Tax and beverages are not included in the special price.
The list of other participating restaurants in nearby towns reads like a dining guide to New York State: Bistro Rollin (Pelham), Le Jardin du Roi (Chappaqua), Rubys Oyster Bar & Bistro (Rye), Tarry Lodge (Port Chester), Trevi Ristorante (West Harrison), Moderne Barn (Armonk) and hundreds more.
