Green Life Cafe opened on Mamaroneck Avenue in Mamaroneck on June 25 and so far, the family-owned business is thriving.
"We have been totally blown away by the reception the town has given us," said Gregory Caligiuri. "Everyday I'm grateful to be seeing familiar faces and meeting new customers. My brothers and I and are looking forward to a bright future here."
The three come from the restaurant and food service industry. Their father, Tony, owned his own establishment, "Cold Cut City Gourmet, " for 30 years in Riverdale, and their mother, Denise, ran and operated her family's wholesale business "Sassone Wholesale Grocers" in the Bronx. "So we're lucky enough to get a background in both spectrums of the food service industry," he said.
The airy eatery prides itself on using quality ingredients whether it's triple washing their produce and fruits, to having a wide range of grass fed beef and cage free non-hormone chicken options.
Proving popular so far, the cafe's signature salads, followed closely by their smoothies and protein bowls. There are also specials almost every day or every other day and those range from new salads to new smoothies, sandwiches and protein bowls. "Our goal is to try new recipes out that may one day become part of our signature menu as well as our seasonal menu," explained Caligiuri.
