"Would you please turn that light out or be removed from the theater," he is heard saying on a video posted on the TMZ website.

"Turn that light out. It's blinding me. I have had five eye surgeries. Are you that insensitive. Are you stupid or deaf?" he said, among remarks, according to the video on TMZ.com.

"We all know David has eye issues, and frankly I would be a little ticked off too! You should be respectful of the entertainer. David stood up for himself," someone posted on the David Cassidy Facebook page.

Another chided the performer, in part, "Why could you not have handled this with manners?"

Still another Facebook message showed support for the singer. "May your eyes heal nicely!" it said.

Cassidy resided for a time in the Irvington home of his father, actor Jack Cassidy, and his wife, actress Shirley Jones, where his half-brothers also resided.
