Westchester Resident Jeffrey Tambor Wins Emmy For 'Transparent'

CROSS RIVER, N.Y. -- Cross River resident Jefferey Tambor won an Emmy as Lead Actor in a Comedy Series at the 67th annual Emmy Awards, Sunday, Sept. 20 for his role in Amazon's "Transparent."

Tambor plays Maura Pfefferman, a transgender woman who comes out to her family late in life.

Along with thanking his wife, his teachers, and his publicity team, Tambor specifically dedicated his performance to the transgender community. 

"Thank you for your patience, thank you for your courage, thank you for your stories, thank you for your inspiration and thank you for letting us be part of the change," he said.
