WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The world's best restaurant list has just been announced and, lucky us: many of the 50 are within driving distance of Westchester.

Of the top picks, Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Tarrytown ranks No. 49, with Manhattan's Per Se, Le Bernardin, and Eleven Madison Park coming in at numbers 40, 18 and five.

Number one is El Celler de Can Roca in Girona, Spain.

According to Peter X. Kelly of Xaviars Restaurant Group in Yonkers, the best restaurant list is "a very personal but subjective listing of some of the greatest restaurants in the world."

"No listing is infallible and without question, some will be on the list that you may not agree with and some may not be on the list that you believe should," he said. "The industry is undergoing great change and I think there are rerstaurants on the list and off that speak to this."

In his opinion, he believes Chef Daniel Boulud and his restaurant Daniel in New York City should be on the list (it's not). "I would consider it one of the top 10 in the world," said Kelly.
