WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- In order to effectively prevent and treat the spread of contagious diseases, White Plains Hospital has added two infectious disease specialists, Dr. Barry D. Wenglin and Dr. Gary Zeitlin, to its growing Physician Associates Division.

Board certified in internal medicine and infectious disease, Zeitlin and Wenglin will continue to operate out of their office at 56 Doyer Avenue in White Plains. Longtime Westchester practitioners, the doctors join the Physician Associates team with decades of experience dealing with highly contagious illnesses.

After receiving his undergraduate degree from Columbia College, Wenglin earned his medical degree at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Kansas, Kansas City. He continued on with further infectious disease fellowships at the University of Kansas, Kansas City and the University of Arizona Medical Center. Wenglin has also served as councilor to the New York Society of Infectious Disease and as chairman of the Internal Medicine Section of the Westchester County Medical Society.

Zeitlin received his BA in biology from SUNY Binghamton University, and earned his medical degree at SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at New York University Medical Center, and a fellowship in infectious diseases and immunology at NYU Medical Center. Zeitlin has also received the Fellow of the Year Award from the Division of Infectious Disease. Additionally, Zeitlin has performed research at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine and NYU Medical Center, and authored articles in several professional publications.
