In an event held last month in White Plains Hospital’s new Center for Cancer Care, experts from Montefiore’s well-established Healing Arts Program -- a network that uses the arts, creative arts therapies, and other art-based approaches to healing -- offered guided relaxation through a series of sensory activities designed to engage the five senses.

ArtsWestchester, Westchester County’s designated arts council, engaged attendees in a collaborative art project in which participants contributed to a watercolor mosaic with a soothing color palette designed to reflect their feelings of good health.

The afternoon also included healing touch therapy demonstrations by WPH staff, painting stations, music and aromatherapy samples.
