This Friday, Dec. 4, Netflix will premiere “A Very Murray Christmas." I would suggest you watch it while sipping our favorite spirit, Slovenia Vodka.

For this holiday season, In fact, I've created “A Very Murray Christmas Cocktail” (recipe to follow).

The New York Times in an article this week talks of how Bill has become an Icon much like Elvis or James Dean or Albert Einstein. Of course my family and I have known this for years. Bill's body of work speaks for itself, from the early years of "Stripes," "Caddyshack" and "Ghostbusters" to "What About Bob?" "Groundhog Day," "Lost in Translation," and "St. Vincent."

These are but a sampling of the many films that have built his reputation over more than four decades. Bill may be the oldest hipster because he has been hip since before the word “Hipster” was used.

To know Bill Murray is to love Bill Murray. I have never met a more interesting or captivating personality in my life. He is family oriented, community minded, generous, good natured and a laugh to hang out with.

We have all seen the funny guy that is Bill f…ing Murray but what you haven’t seen is the quiet unassuming and gracious Bill Murray. The guy that anonymously does more charitable giving and random acts of kindness than anyone I know. He not only supports the soup kitchens, he personally shops for them and works them. He not only commits the funds to build hospital wards, he visits them, bringing flowers and candy. He’s been a Little League coach, a Hudson Valley spokesperson, a good neighbor, a community organizer and a pretty darn good singer if you haven’t heard.

Yes Bill Murray has reached “Icon” status, but it has not changed who he is at his soul. He still stops to take selfies with adoring fans, slips into a hot dog costume to wake the crowd up at a local baseball game and finds time to bring a smile to millions of people who need one every day.

With that I say, "Cheers" to Bill and to all this holiday season.
