Ferraro, Decorated Mamaroneck Veteran, Dies at 89

MAMARONECK, N.Y. - Lifelong Mamaroneck resident, Joseph Ferraro died Feb. 3 at the age of 89.

He was born Feb. 23, 1922 in Mamaroneck to the late Frank and Isabella Ferraro. During World War II, he served in the Army as a combat medic and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star medals. Ferraro married the former Mary Mastrochrestino, who survives him.

Ferraro is also survived by his grandsons John and Joe DeCrescenzo, his son-in-law Joseph DeCrescenzo and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Arlene DeCrescenzo.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home in Mamaroneck. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Rye Brook.
