Funeral Arrangements Set For Motorcyclist Killed In Scarsdale Crash

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - Funeral arrangements have been set for the Mount Vernon man who was involved in a fatal motorcycle crash in Scarsdale.

Shortly after 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22, members of the Scarsdale Police Department were dispatched to a stretch of Post Road near the intersection of Wayside Lane in the area of Scarsdale High School, where there were reports of a serious crash.

The operator of the motorcycle, 44-year-old Junio Aridio of Mount Vernon, was treated at the scene by the Scarsdale Volunteer Ambulance Corps and transported immediately to the Westchester Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The operator of the other vehicle was not injured.

A wake for Aridio will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29 at Yannantuono Burr Davis Sharpe Funeral Home on Gramatan Avenue in Mount Vernon, his body will then be flown to Brazil as his final resting place.

While police investigated the crash, Post Road was completely closed between Sherbrooke Road and Crane Road all night. The Scarsdale Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Westchester County Police Accident Investigation Unit. The case is currently under investigation, police said that updated information will be released as it progresses.
