Germani, Former Mamaroneck Deli Owner, Dies at 92

MAMARONECK, N.Y. – Frances Lancia Germani, formerly of Mamaroneck, died at National Healthcare Corporation Nursing Facility in Bluffton, S.C. She was 92.

Germani was born April 14, 1919 in Mamaroneck to Rosa Notorgiacomo Lancia and Dominick Lancia. On Jan. 1, 1945, she married Joseph Germani and together they owned Hillside Delicatessen in Mamaroneck for 31 years. He predeceased on July 4, 2006 after 61 years of marriage.

Residing in Mamaroneck and Port St. Lucie, Fla., Germani was an expert seamstress. She was also active in the golfing communities of Westchester along with her husband.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home in Mamaroneck. A funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Vito's Catholic Church in Mamaroneck, where Germani and her husband were married.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Vito's Catholic Church, 816 Msgr Goodwine Street, Mamaroneck, N.Y. 10543, or Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation, 25 Moore Avenue, Mt. Kisco, N.Y. 10549.
